Fcam

The Fondo Centroamericano de Mujeres (FCAM) was created in 2003, with the aim of supporting grassroots organizations made up of and led by women. These organisations work for the rights of women in relation to their physical and emotional integrity, social, economic and (environmental) justice, and participation as leaders in decisions that affect their lives and their communities. FCAM prioritizes working with women who are indigenous, rural, afro-descendant, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, sex workers, maquila (factory) workers, domestic workers, migrants, HIV-positive, and especially, young women who are a crosscutting priority in all of our programs

FCAM mobilizes resources to offer grants to groups who do not yet have the resources to attain grants themselves. In addition to financing, they also provide capacity-building, technical training and other support programs to further assist primarily grassroots groups in their growth processes. FCAM is the lead member for GAGGA.
