TOR for Most Significant Change Stories (Qualitative Researcher)
Background
The Global Alliance for Green and Gender Action (GAGGA) is a vibrant and diverse network, established in 2016, involving women’s funds, environmental justice funds, NGOs, and women- led community-based organisations, joining forces to strengthen the nexus of women’s[1] rights, climate, and environmental justice at local, national, and regional levels in Africa, Asia, the Pacific, Latin America, Europe and globally. GAGGA works towards enhancing linkages[2] and collaboration among women-led CBOs and women’s rights, environmental and climate justice movements at multiple levels, to pursue Lobby and Advocacy (L&A) agendas on climate mitigation and adaptation solutions that amplify women’s leadership, resilience, agency and promote women’s rights. Specifically, GAGGA aims to influence governments, investors, and donors at multiple levels to divest from fossil fuel (related) industries, defend critical ecosystems and support inclusive, sustainable and gender-just climate solutions.
To deepen understanding of changes occurring through GAGGA’s support, every two years GAGGA implements its Most Significant Change (MSC) story tool. GAGGA seeks an experienced Qualitative Researcher to conduct an in-depth qualitative analysis of about 200 MSC stories, providing insights into patterns, themes, and the broader impacts of GAGGA’s interventions.
Objective
The primary objective of this assignment is to conduct a qualitative analysis of MSC stories collected from stakeholders, identifying key themes, trends, and insights that align with GAGGA’s strategic goals in supporting, advocating for and resourcing gender-just climate solutions. Secondly, the stories which stand out within the data set (about 40-60) need to be documented singularly to ensure that they can be used for communications, fundraising and other advocacy initiates
