Environmental protection and pollution reduction

GAGGA is supporting environmental protection and climate change mitigation by channeling funds and
strengthening the capacity of those restoring our environment and reducing pollution. Plastics are deeply linked to
the climate crisis: about 99% of all plastics are made from fossil fuels, and their extraction, refining, manufacturing,
transport, and disposal release large amounts of greenhouse gases (GHG) at every stage of their life cycle. GAGGA is
connecting movements across regions through peer-to-peer learning that bridges climate and gender justice and is
ensuring women-led organizations have meaningful access to – and influence within – global climate advocacy and
decision-making spaces.
